Wheatley should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Patriots watched Zakee Wheatley slide 42 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The cost of the Whittington reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
