The Patriots spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jordan Whittington, the No. 204 name on the board, in the 248th overall pick. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. With interior defensive lineman and running back unsolved, spending premium capital on defensive back is the choice that costs them. They are betting Mahogany proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
