McCarthy is the plan now, and the Patriots grade out a A-.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

The Lovett pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Deebo Samuel deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
