Philly V DRAFTING FOR THEEagles

Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall
D-
ValueB-

TradesF
FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Eagles to a D-. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Eagles shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Every board in the league had Josephs lower, and that gap is the story.
However the rest shakes out, Ponds at that price is a win they earned.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
In pick 23 they get a security blanket over the middle. A real need, handled.
Pick31
Rnd1
Joshua Josephs
The board had cheaper options than Joshua Josephs at slot 31, and it noticed. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick54
Rnd2
Omar Cooper Jr.
They took Omar Cooper Jr. at par in the 54th pick, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick62
Rnd2
D'Angelo Ponds
They let D'Angelo Ponds come to them and pounced at the 62nd overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick63
Rnd2
A.J. Haulcy
A tidy bit of business in No. 63, where A.J. Haulcy graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick68
Rnd3
Keionte Scott
Keionte Scott at Round 3, Pick 4 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick98
Rnd3
Logan Jones
Logan Jones slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick122
Rnd4
Mike Washington Jr.
Value with a capital V on Mike Washington Jr. in pick No. 122, a genuine coup. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick137
Rnd4
Beau Stephens
They paid up for Beau Stephens at pick No. 137 when waiting would have done the job. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick215
Rnd6
Zxavian Harris
By-the-book stuff, Zxavian Harris at slot 215 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick246
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in pick 246 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick247
Rnd7
Nolan Rucci
Nolan Rucci at the Round 7 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
