Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA FutureB-
Mendoza is the plan now, and the Raiders grade out a B.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Raiders spent their marquee pick on Fernando Mendoza, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The Fields pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Harris has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value.
Pick36 Rnd2 Caleb Banks
Caleb Banks at slot 36 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick67 Rnd3 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at No. 67 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick102 Rnd4 Malachi Fields
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Malachi Fields in the 102nd overall pick, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick134 Rnd4 DeMonte Capehart
Nothing to complain about; DeMonte Capehart went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick175 Rnd5 Ted Hurst
A straight-up fair deal on Ted Hurst at pick No. 175, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick182 Rnd6 Zxavian Harris
Zxavian Harris at pick 182 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick185 Rnd6 J'Mari Taylor
They read the board right and J'Mari Taylor was the payoff at the Round 6 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick219 Rnd7 Jeff Caldwell
Jeff Caldwell at the 219th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
