The Cowboys land in the muddy middle: C+.

The Cowboys clearly saw something nobody else did in Princewill Umanmielen, taking him 53 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.

With cornerback, quarterback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on edge rusher is the choice that costs them. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

So much rides on LT Overton that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Eric Rivers at slot 155 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Princewill Umanmielen in the 216th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
