The 49ers let Golday fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the 49ers were there to profit. Jake Golday, the No. 58 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 92. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They are betting Dunker proves the room right and everyone else wrong. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick27 Rnd1 Gennings Dunker
In pick 27 they get a building block for the line, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick58 Rnd2 Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis in the Round 2 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick92 Rnd3 Jake Golday
Somehow Jake Golday was still sitting there in the 92nd overall pick, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick127 Rnd4 Will Lee III
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Will Lee III at pick No. 127. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick133 Rnd4 Bryce Lance
Bryce Lance is a better player than slot 133 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick138 Rnd4 Eli Raridon
Eli Raridon at No. 138 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick139 Rnd4 Kaytron Allen
Kaytron Allen in the 139th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
