The Cowboys clearly saw something nobody else did in Keaten Wade, taking him 123 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. The warnings were there, and the F is the bill.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Beck. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

They went 8 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
