The Xavian Sorey Jr. selection is the head-turner. The Cowboys reached 78 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. A weekend to file away and forget, and an F to match.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. That Jennings pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

The Cowboys clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
