Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Toriano Pride Jr. got past him. The Texans do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 244. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

They will need Hobbs to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Spending an early pick on safety with edge rusher, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
