Draft Grade — Texans
Overall

FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Texans for Bisontis: B. Thirty-one other rooms let Chase Bisontis slide, and the Texans were the ones holding the card at Round 4, Pick 6. Highway robbery. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Barton reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Makai Lemon
In slot 28 they get a go-to option on the outside, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick38
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman at pick No. 38 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick59
Rnd2
Eli Stowers
A clean, defensible pick in the 59th overall pick with a little surplus value in Eli Stowers. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick69
Rnd3
Dontay Corleone
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dontay Corleone. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick106
Rnd4
Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis in Round 4, Pick 6 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick141
Rnd5
Beau Stephens
Beau Stephens at the 141st pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick167
Rnd5
Lander Barton
A wild overpay on Lander Barton in the Round 5 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick243
Rnd7
Desmond Reid
They went early on Desmond Reid in No. 243, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick244
Rnd7
Robert Henry Jr.
Robert Henry Jr. in slot 244 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
