The Texans spent real capital to be 21 picks early on Raheim Sanders, and the board is going to hold them to it. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. Job largely done: running back settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
Jared Verse in slot 24 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
By-the-book stuff, Kingsley Suamataia at Round 2, Pick 21 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A straight-up fair deal on Payton Wilson at the 95th pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board had cheaper options than Tommy Eichenberg at the 121st overall pick, and it noticed. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 4 slot with a little surplus value in Shilo Sanders. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A real head-scratcher, Raheim Sanders in pick 158 is miles ahead of his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
