Larceny in pick No. 74 lands the Chiefs a C, Hill Jr. and all.

The Chiefs spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Anthony Hill Jr., the No. 38 name on the board, in the Round 3 slot.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They are betting Endries proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

The Chiefs indulged a want in Ponds while a need in quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots stayed open. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
