Green Bay Packers

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Packers and Estime: B+.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Packers came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

However the rest shakes out, Estime at that price is a win they earned. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.28 · Pick 28 · Bralen Trice · DE-EDGE · rank 23
In the 28th pick they get a premier pass rusher. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Jordan Morgan · OT · rank 28
A quiet steal in pick 41: Jordan Morgan for less than the market said. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Chop Robinson · DE-EDGE · rank 42
Chop Robinson slipping to the 57th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Junior Colson · LB · rank 81
Good price on Junior Colson in Round 3, Pick 25, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R3.29 · Pick 92 · Christian Haynes · OG · rank 80
Christian Haynes is a better player than pick No. 92 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · Audric Estime · RB · rank 102
They robbed the room for Audric Estime here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R4.28 · Pick 128 · Kris Abrams-Draine · CB · rank 126
Kris Abrams-Draine at Round 4, Pick 28 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Cole Bishop · S · rank 135
By-the-book stuff, Cole Bishop at the 135th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It adds depth where they could use a little.
