Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall
A-
ValueC+

FutureA+
Quarterback settled, Nix in the fold, and a A- for the Patriots. The search is over. The Patriots handed the keys to Bo Nix, and the whole operation now runs on his development. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Sinnott reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Henderson.
Bottom line, with Bo Nix leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Bo Nix
In the 12th pick they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
T'Vondre Sweat
Good price on T'Vondre Sweat in pick No. 35, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick46
Rnd2
Jermaine Burton
Jermaine Burton at No. 46 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick67
Rnd3
Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell in the 67th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick76
Rnd3
Amarius Mims
Amarius Mims in pick 76 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick105
Rnd4
TreVeyon Henderson
They let TreVeyon Henderson come to them and pounced at slot 105. It fills a real need, too.
Pick114
Rnd4
Ben Sinnott
This one needs a full-page explanation: Ben Sinnott in the Round 4 slot, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick140
Rnd5
Darius Robinson
They paid sticker price for Darius Robinson in Round 5, Pick 4, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick181
Rnd6
Kamal Hadden
Kamal Hadden in No. 181 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick224
Rnd7
Landon Jackson
A straight-up fair deal on Landon Jackson at the 224th pick, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
