At Mater Dei in Southern California, Tuliaupupu won the high school Butkus Award and USA Today Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2017, playing middle linebacker before a foot injury ended his senior playoffs. The son of a Southern Utah offensive lineman, he signed with USC as a four-star.His college career was nearly wiped out by injuries. Across seven years in Los Angeles he played just two seasons, recording ten tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2022 and thirteen tackles in 2024 after moving from linebacker to defensive end.
He transferred to FCS Montana for 2025 and finally stayed healthy, starting all fourteen games and anchoring the run defense with 43 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles. His best game came against Indiana State with a sack and a forced fumble, and the NCAA later granted him a ninth year of eligibility.

Tuliaupupu is a story of perseverance, a former USC signee who lost roughly five seasons to injuries and resurfaced at Montana as an excellent run-defending edge for an FCS semifinalist. His run is the calling card: twenty-four stops, a hard edge, and the leverage to shed and finish at the point, with a forced fumble and four pressures against Indiana State among the highlights. He plays with effort on every snap, and the run-defense tape is quite good for the level.The context is unavoidable. The injury history is extensive, he will enter the league as an unusually old prospect after a ninth year of eligibility, and his frame at 247 pounds comes with a modest pass-rush ceiling.
