Draft Profile: Bio
Tristan Bounds played at Episcopal High School in Virginia, where he also lettered in basketball, before finishing at Choate Rosemary Hall in Connecticut. He signed with Michigan, where he played in seven games over four seasons and was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten pick.

Bounds transferred to Arizona for 2025 and started eight games, with strong pass protection, before a leg injury against Cincinnati cost him the final three games. In January 2026 he was granted a sixth year of eligibility, and Arizona's offensive line coach said his return brought the biggest sigh of relief through the office.

Bounds made the Outland Trophy watch list and has been Arizona's starting right tackle in every game in 2026. He kept the opener against Northern Arizona clean, but he gave up two sacks at Texas Tech, and Iowa State got three pressures on him. He also has five penalties.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Quick, balanced feet in pass protection against edge rushers
  • Experienced starter with 16 starts over two seasons at Arizona
  • Pass protection was a real strength of his 2025 tape
  • Kept the opener against Northern Arizona clean over 55 snaps
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Penalties have piled up, with five flags already this season
  • Texas Tech beat him for two sacks in a single game
  • Iowa State pressured him three times in 72 snaps
  • A leg injury against Cincinnati ended his 2025 season with three games left
  • Sixth-year player who spent four years as a backup at Michigan
Scouting Report: Summary
Bounds is an athletic tackle who finally found a starting role at Arizona. He sets with quick feet and showed strong pass protection in 2025 before an injury ended his season.

However, his 2026 season has been uneven. He has five penalties, gave up two sacks at Texas Tech, and Iowa State pressured him three times. He is also older than most prospects, with a leg injury in his history.

Overall, Bounds has the athletic tools for a backup role. He projects as a priority free agent whose penalty count has to come down.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
