Draft Grade — Texans
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Texans.

Some picks age like wine; Ty'Ron Hopper at pick No. 128 will need to, sitting 49 spots clear of his grade.

However the rest shakes out, Arnold at that price is a win they earned. The offensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Byron Murphy II
In pick No. 23 they get a run-stuffing presence up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick59 Rnd2 Terrion Arnold
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Terrion Arnold in the 59th overall pick, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick86 Rnd3 Mohamed Kamara
A wild overpay on Mohamed Kamara in slot 86, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick124 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
Johnny Wilson at the 124th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick128 Rnd4 Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper in No. 128 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick236 Rnd7 Frank Gore Jr.
They read the board right and Frank Gore Jr. was the payoff at Round 7, Pick 16. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick245 Rnd7 De'Corian Clark
A big swing on De'Corian Clark at pick No. 245, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick250 Rnd7 Edefuan Ulofoshio
Edefuan Ulofoshio in slot 250 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
