The Texans checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Texans spent pick No. 123 on Jordan Jefferson, a name most had 60 spots down the list. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Spending an early pick on cornerback with edge rusher, offensive lineman and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
