The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The 49ers watched Brashard Smith slide 135 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.

Mesidor has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Adding Braden Smith by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

They went 8 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
