The Texans let Ransom fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

When a board-topper like Lathan Ransom slides to the 167th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Texans did not.

They will need Griffith to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
