Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall
C
ValueB
NeedB+

FutureB
The Patriots let Hart fall and pounced. Final grade: C. You build a draft on nights like this. Cam Hart had no business being available in slot 175, and the Patriots did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. If Neyor pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In the Round 1 slot they get a home-run threat at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
They took Chris Braswell at par in Round 2, Pick 2, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick86
Rnd3
Rod Moore
Rod Moore slid further than he should have, and slot 86 is lovely value for the safety. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick91
Rnd3
Blake Fisher
Blake Fisher at the 91st overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick115
Rnd4
Matt Goncalves
A clean, defensible pick in the 115th pick with a little surplus value in Matt Goncalves. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick138
Rnd5
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in No. 138 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick151
Rnd5
Jordan Travis
Value with a capital V on Jordan Travis in pick No. 151, a genuine coup. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick161
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
They did well to land Jaylin Simpson in pick 161, just ahead of his grade. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick175
Rnd5
Cam Hart
Steal is underselling it; Cam Hart at slot 175 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick182
Rnd6
Jordan Jefferson
A premium they did not need to pay, Jordan Jefferson a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick210
Rnd6
Ben Bywater
Ben Bywater at the 210th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick224
Rnd7
Isaiah Neyor
They went early on Isaiah Neyor in Round 7, Pick 4, and the value did not follow. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
