Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
Larceny in the 173rd overall pick lands the Bengals a D, Pritchett and all.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Bengals, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Pritchett.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 JC Latham
In Round 1, Pick 18 they get a blindside protector. A real need, handled.
Pick36 Rnd2 Adonai Mitchell
They did well to land Adonai Mitchell in the 36th pick, just ahead of his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick49 Rnd2 Kamren Kinchens
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kamren Kinchens at pick No. 49. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick80 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at No. 80 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick102 Rnd4 Junior Colson
Circle this one: Junior Colson at the Round 4 slot is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick115 Rnd4 Dillon Johnson
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dillon Johnson. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick151 Rnd5 Dallin Holker
Dallin Holker in Round 5, Pick 15 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick173 Rnd5 Nehemiah Pritchett
They will replay Nehemiah Pritchett at slot 173 for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick196 Rnd6 JD Bertrand
A straight-up fair deal on JD Bertrand at pick 196, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick238 Rnd7 Blake Watson
The board had Blake Watson higher than the Round 7 slot, and the running back fell to them anyway. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick254 Rnd7 BJ Mayes
BJ Mayes at the 254th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
