Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Ryan Fitzgerald got past him. The Commanders do not have to explain a thing at pick 207.

If Griffith pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. It is not that Mukuba is a bad player; it is that the Commanders had louder needs to answer first.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
