The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Commanders watched Cody Simon slide 121 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

They are betting Burch proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The veteran additions, Olumuyiwa Fashanu chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
