Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers bet the future on Nix. The board says B-.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Packers spent their marquee pick on Bo Nix, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

The Guerendo pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Colson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Bo Nix
In No. 25 they get their guy under center for the next decade. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Bralen Trice
Nothing to complain about; Bralen Trice went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick57 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat in slot 57 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick88 Rnd3 Junior Colson
Value with a capital V on Junior Colson in pick No. 88, a genuine coup. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick91 Rnd3 Bucky Irving
A straight-up fair deal on Bucky Irving at pick 91, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick126 Rnd4 Kris Abrams-Draine
They did well to land Kris Abrams-Draine in the 126th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick168 Rnd5 Jaylen Wright
A clean, defensible pick in Round 5, Pick 32 with a little surplus value in Jaylen Wright. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick203 Rnd6 Ethan Driskell
A tidy bit of business in the 203rd pick, where Ethan Driskell graded well above the range. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick216 Rnd6 Kingsley Eguakun
They talked themselves into Kingsley Eguakun at the 216th overall pick, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick243 Rnd7 Isaac Guerendo
Value said wait; Isaac Guerendo in pick No. 243 says they were not listening. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick251 Rnd7 Jeremy Flax
They took Jeremy Flax at par in the 251st pick, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
