Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers let Bertrand fall and pounced. Final grade: B.

The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: JD Bertrand, the No. 211 name on the board, sitting there at Round 7, Pick 31 like a gift left on the doorstep.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Owens has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick41 Rnd2 Terrion Arnold
Nice patience on Terrion Arnold, who had no business lasting to No. 41. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kool-Aid McKinstry
They barely believed it either: Kool-Aid McKinstry still on the board at pick No. 58. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick88 Rnd3 Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in slot 88 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick91 Rnd3 Jaylen Wright
Jaylen Wright at pick 91 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick127 Rnd4 Will Shipley
A running back of that caliber at Round 4, Pick 27 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick168 Rnd5 Tommy Eichenberg
Circle this one: Tommy Eichenberg at the 168th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick204 Rnd6 Caedan Wallace
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Caedan Wallace in the 204th pick, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick216 Rnd6 Tyler Owens
A conviction pick on Tyler Owens at No. 216 that the board grades a round light. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick243 Rnd7 Kenny Logan Jr.
Kenny Logan Jr. in the Round 7 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick251 Rnd7 JD Bertrand
JD Bertrand at pick No. 251 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
