The Commanders spent real capital to be 65 picks early on Barryn Sorrell, and the board is going to hold them to it. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

The Hancock pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. The veteran additions, Pat Surtain II chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
