Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for Shipley: B-.

Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Packers never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In pick No. 25 they get a problem off the edge at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
By-the-book stuff, Edgerrin Cooper at slot 41 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick58 Rnd2 Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske at pick 58 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick88 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
They read the board right and Mike Sainristil was the payoff at No. 88. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick91 Rnd3 Renardo Green
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Renardo Green at the Round 3 slot. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick126 Rnd4 Will Shipley
You do not let a running back like Will Shipley reach Round 4, Pick 26 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick169 Rnd5 Walter Rouse
Walter Rouse at the 169th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick202 Rnd6 Johnny Dixon
Nice patience on Johnny Dixon, who had no business lasting to pick No. 202. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick219 Rnd6 Jordan Magee
Jordan Magee at No. 219 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick245 Rnd7 Dominique Hampton
Dominique Hampton slipping to the Round 7 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick255 Rnd7 KT Leveston
KT Leveston is a better player than the 255th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
