Draft Grade — Browns
Overall C+
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureA+
The Browns robbed the room for Shough. Final grade: C+.

You could see the war room lean forward. Tyler Shough at Round 6, Pick 3 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland in Round 1, Pick 30 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick33 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
Nice patience on Emeka Egbuka, who had no business lasting to pick 33. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick49 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
They took TreVeyon Henderson at par in slot 49, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick67 Rnd3 Kaleb Johnson
Kaleb Johnson in the 67th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick80 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick94 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe in No. 94 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick104 Rnd4 Charles Grant
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Charles Grant at pick No. 104. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick179 Rnd6 Tyler Shough
Tyler Shough at the 179th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick192 Rnd6 Quincy Riley
A quiet steal in pick 192: Quincy Riley for less than the market said. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick200 Rnd6 Jaylen Reed
Jaylen Reed at pick No. 200 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick216 Rnd6 Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock at Round 6, Pick 40 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It fills a real need, too.
Pick255 Rnd7 Jamon Dumas-Johnson
Jamon Dumas-Johnson at the 255th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A minor need, but a need all the same.
