Larceny in slot 222 lands the Commanders a B, Etienne and all.

Call it larceny. Trevor Etienne sat on the board until pick 222, and the Commanders did not need to be asked twice.

With edge rusher, quarterback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
