The Steelers drew a line under the quarterback search with McCarthy: B.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Steelers spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Hall reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Adding Tyron Smith by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
