The Mason McCormick selection is the head-turner. The Steelers reached 27 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.

Spending an early pick on offensive lineman with quarterback, safety and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Getting McGregor where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
