A respectable, level-headed haul for the Steelers: B-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Steelers did exactly that with Khristian Boyd in pick No. 119. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

They will answer for taking offensive lineman early while quarterback, safety and other spots went begging. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

They banked enough surplus on Phillips to cover a lot of smaller sins.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
