Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Steelers: B-.

Boards are made to be trusted, and the Steelers shredded theirs for Gabe Hall. He came off 45 spots early, and the room will hear about it. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Spending an early pick on offensive lineman with quarterback, safety and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
In the 20th overall pick they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick51 Rnd2 Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske at No. 51 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick84 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
A quiet steal in pick No. 84: Mike Sainristil for less than the market said. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick98 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice in the 98th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick119 Rnd4 Hunter Nourzad
A surprising call. With quarterback, safety and other spots still to address, they spent slot 119 on Hunter Nourzad, an offensive lineman they were not short of.
Pick178 Rnd6 Gabe Hall
A big swing on Gabe Hall at the Round 6 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick195 Rnd6 Trevin Wallace
Trevin Wallace in the 195th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
