Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB TradesA- FutureB
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Raiders.

The Raiders spent real capital to be 61 picks early on Jordan Travis, and the board is going to hold them to it.

Spending an early pick on linebacker with wide receiver and interior defensive lineman open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The Gray pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Nate Wiggins
In pick 18 they get a press-man option on the boundary. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick48 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
No edge and no loss on Jackson Powers-Johnson in the 48th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick56 Rnd2 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
They paid up for Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at No. 56 when waiting would have done the job. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick77 Rnd3 Jordan Travis
Jordan Travis at Round 3, Pick 13 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick96 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
The board had Cooper Beebe higher than slot 96, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick115 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
A surprising call. With wide receiver and interior defensive lineman still to address, they spent the Round 4 slot on Tommy Eichenberg, a linebacker they were not short of.
Pick137 Rnd5 Malik Mustapha
Malik Mustapha in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick159 Rnd5 Cody Schrader
A conviction pick on Cody Schrader at pick 159 that the board grades a round light. It fills a real need, too.
Pick174 Rnd5 Bryson Nesbit
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Bryson Nesbit. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick178 Rnd6 Curtis Jacobs
A premium they did not need to pay, Curtis Jacobs a notch or two before his time. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick190 Rnd6 Andru Phillips
A quiet steal in the 190th pick: Andru Phillips for less than the market said. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick234 Rnd7 Antwaun Powell-Ryland
They reached into another round for Antwaun Powell-Ryland, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick243 Rnd7 Joshua Gray
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Joshua Gray at pick No. 243 is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
