The Cowboys let James fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: D.J. James, the No. 68 name on the board, stolen at Round 3, Pick 30. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

They trusted the board more than the depth chart. The phones were busy but the ledger stayed level.
