Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB FutureB
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Bills a B.

There is a lot to like until you notice interior defensive lineman is still a hole. The Bills never got to the one that mattered most.

The Odunze steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Reaching for Mettauer left real value on the table behind him. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick No. 29 they get a true top target at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick99 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
A tidy bit of business in the Round 3 slot, where Mike Sainristil graded well above the range. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick120 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg at slot 120 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick129 Rnd4 James Williams
They took James Williams at par in the 129th pick, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick162 Rnd5 LaDarius Henderson
LaDarius Henderson in No. 162 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick166 Rnd5 Jaylan Ford
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jaylan Ford. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick198 Rnd6 Jared Wiley
Jared Wiley at the 198th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick202 Rnd6 Sam Hartman
Sam Hartman in Round 6, Pick 27 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick207 Rnd6 J.J. Weaver
J.J. Weaver in the 207th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick250 Rnd7 McKade Mettauer
A real head-scratcher, McKade Mettauer in No. 250 is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
