Of all the ways to open, the Steelers chose the head-scratcher, spending No. 44 on Jackson Powers-Johnson with interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots still wide open.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The King pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They will need Travis to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
