You could see the war room lean forward. Jawhar Jordan at No. 238 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Bengals indulged a want in Smith while a need in cornerback, interior defensive lineman and other spots stayed open. They are betting Knox proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
