Draft Grade — Bears
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB- TradesF FutureB
The Bears answered their biggest question with Daniels. Grade: D-.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Bears, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

Jayden Daniels gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They are betting Wright proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In the 1st pick they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick13 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
Pick43 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
A premium they did not need to pay, Jackson Powers-Johnson a notch or two before his time. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick44 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in No. 44 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick75 Rnd3 Johnny Wilson
By-the-book stuff, Johnny Wilson at pick No. 75 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick110 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson at pick 110 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick122 Rnd4 Max Melton
A tidy bit of business in the Round 4 slot, where Max Melton graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick146 Rnd5 Jaylen Wright
Jaylen Wright in slot 146 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick189 Rnd6 Christian Jones
Christian Jones at No. 189 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
