Draft Grade — Giants

FutureA+
A franchise passer in Milroe headlines a C weekend for the Giants. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Giants watched Quinshon Judkins slide 141 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It lands right in the middle: a C, no more, no less.
The whole projection now runs through Jalen Milroe; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They are betting Amos proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.
If Jalen Milroe and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Jalen Milroe
In Round 1, Pick 26 they get a franchise quarterback, though the board says they badly overpaid. A real need, handled.
Pick33
Rnd2
Trey Amos
They reached a country mile for Trey Amos at slot 33, and the board is aghast. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick58
Rnd2
Shemar Stewart
Good price on Shemar Stewart in Round 2, Pick 26, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick66
Rnd3
Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild at the Round 3 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick90
Rnd3
Hollin Pierce
Hollin Pierce at No. 90 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick102
Rnd4
Donovan Ezeiruaku
Donovan Ezeiruaku at the 102nd pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick134
Rnd4
Sebastian Castro
Circle this one: Sebastian Castro at the 134th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick159
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. at slot 159 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick218
Rnd7
Quinshon Judkins
They will replay Quinshon Judkins at pick 218 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Pick245
Rnd7
Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser in pick No. 245 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick256
Rnd7
Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson in pick No. 256 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
