There is conviction, and then there is this. The Bengals took Jalen Coker a full 27 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Legette at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
