FutureA+
Larceny in No. 53 lands the Browns a B-, Banks and all. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Browns shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
On value alone, Banks makes the weekend a net positive. Igbinosun has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Jordyn Tyson
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick21
Rnd1
Gennings Dunker
In slot 21 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick22
Rnd1
Denzel Boston
In pick 22 they get a home-run threat at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
Arvell Reese
They jumped the gun on Arvell Reese, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick53
Rnd2
Caleb Banks
Caleb Banks at pick No. 53 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick69
Rnd3
Brian Parker II
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Brian Parker II. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick104
Rnd4
Charles Jagusah
Charles Jagusah at Round 4, Pick 4 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick144
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
Value said wait; Davison Igbinosun in the 144th overall pick says they were not listening. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick148
Rnd5
Bray Hubbard
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Bray Hubbard in pick 148. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick149
Rnd5
DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart in pick No. 149 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick241
Rnd7
Brandon Inniss
A straight-up fair deal on Brandon Inniss at the 241st pick, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick243
Rnd7
Luke Altmyer
Taking Luke Altmyer in No. 243 is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
