The Patriots did not so much draft Kain Medrano as overpay for him, 114 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

The Strong pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman still on the board. Getting Emmanwori where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
