The Patriots treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending Round 7, Pick 4 on Kain Medrano a full 118 spots early.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. That Taylor pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
