A costly weekend of dealing drags the Patriots to a D-.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Patriots spent pick No. 232 on Kain Medrano, a name the board had a full 96 spots lower. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The Patriots indulged a want in Williams while a need in interior defensive lineman stayed open. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

However the rest shakes out, Emmanwori at that price is a win they earned.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
