The Patriots did not so much draft Kain Medrano as overpay for him, 97 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Put together, it is a D-.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. That Bryant pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
