The Patriots treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending pick 220 on Kain Medrano a full 111 spots early. A D- that will need time and luck to look better.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
