Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall D
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureA
The Cowboys got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D.

The Cowboys torched the value chart for Elijah Paige, taking him 58 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The Washington value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

The Cowboys clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Cam Coleman
In Round 1, Pick 14 they get a weapon on the perimeter, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick27 Rnd1 Trey'Dez Green
In slot 27 they get a security blanket over the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick45 Rnd2 A'Mauri Washington
Somehow A'Mauri Washington was still sitting there in No. 45, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick46 Rnd2 Kelley Jones
They paid sticker price for Kelley Jones in pick 46, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick63 Rnd2 Dashawn Spears
Good price on Dashawn Spears in the Round 2 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick76 Rnd3 Ben Roberts
They went early on Ben Roberts in the 76th pick, and the value did not follow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick81 Rnd3 Dom Nichols
A big swing on Dom Nichols at pick 81, well ahead of any board in the building. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick99 Rnd3 LJ Martin
Value said wait; LJ Martin in pick No. 99 says they were not listening. It fills a real need, too.
Pick112 Rnd4 Nico Iamaleava
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Nico Iamaleava. The roster fit checks out.
Pick117 Rnd4 Elijah Paige
They reached a country mile for Elijah Paige at No. 117, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick123 Rnd4 Brody Foley
A wild overpay on Brody Foley in slot 123, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
